This block adds a live Trexity tracking timeline (driver name, ETA, status updates, proof of delivery) to your customer’s order status page in Shopify — the page they reach by clicking the tracking link in their confirmation email.
It’s optional. Tracking still works without it (via Shopify’s standard fulfillment record and the “Track with Trexity” link in the customer’s email). The block just makes the live experience visible right on Shopify’s hosted order page.
What the customer sees
Once added, the customer sees on their order status page:
- A live timeline of every status change (“Scheduled” → “Out for delivery” → “Arriving” → “Delivered”).
- Driver name and photo once a courier is assigned.
- Live ETA that updates as the driver progresses.
- Delivery instruction choices the customer can set (“leave at door”, “ring bell”, etc. — depending on what you allow).
- PIN code for age-restricted orders, presented to the courier on delivery.
- Proof of delivery photos once the delivery is complete.
- A “Track with Trexity” link to the courier-branded tracking page for anyone who wants the live map.
Adding the block
The customer order status page is part of Shopify’s checkout extensibility — managed in the Customer accounts section of the checkout editor.
- Shopify Admin → Settings → Checkout.
- Find the Customer accounts area. Click Customize.
- In the editor, navigate to the Order status page (sometimes labeled “Order details”).
- In the sidebar, look under App blocks for Trexity Order Tracking.
- Drag the block into the layout where you want it to appear. Most merchants place it just below the order summary.
- Click Save.
The block is now live for every customer’s order status page going forward.
When the block shows vs hides
The block only renders content for orders that have a Trexity delivery. Orders shipped via other carriers see an empty (zero height) block — no visual clutter, no broken layout.
Removing the block
Same flow — open the checkout editor, navigate to the order status page, click the block, choose Remove. The block is removed from the customer view; tracking still works through Shopify’s standard email-based flow.
Permissions
The block uses Shopify’s customer-account scopes to read the order’s fulfillment record (with the Trexity tracking URL) and our app’s public tracking API to render the live state. No customer login beyond Shopify’s normal order-lookup is required.
Common questions
“Will the customer see the block if they’re not logged in?” Yes. Shopify’s order status page is reachable via the tracking link in the confirmation email without a customer-account login.
“What does the customer see for a cancelled or expired order?” The block shows the final state (“Cancelled” / “Expired”) with the appropriate timeline marker. They won’t see a live ETA or driver info for a cancelled delivery.
“Can I customize the block’s wording or branding?” Not today. The block uses Trexity’s standard styling so it stays consistent across stores. Spacing and surrounding layout in the order status page are yours to control through the Shopify checkout editor.
“Does this replace Shopify’s standard tracking email?” No. Shopify’s standard “your order is on its way” email still sends. The block just adds richer detail to the page the customer lands on after clicking the email’s tracking link.
