Sometimes you need to stop offering Trexity delivery for a while — a vacation week, a kitchen issue, a staffing gap. Pausing stops Trexity from quoting at checkout without losing any of your configuration.
This pauses Trexity for your whole account. To turn off just one store, see Pausing a location.
What pause does
When Trexity is paused at checkout:
- Customers stop seeing Trexity options at checkout.
- No new Trexity deliveries are auto-created for orders that come in while paused.
- Active deliveries already in flight continue normally. Pause doesn’t cancel anything.
- All your settings stay intact — zones, rate overrides, schedule, locations, billing, and service availability rules — nothing is reset.
When to use it (and when not to)
Good reasons to pause:
- Closed for vacation or holidays.
- Temporary capacity issue (equipment down, key staff out).
- Testing how your store looks without Trexity briefly.
- Restocking after a sellout.
Better alternatives:
- Just one location is closing → Disable that location instead (App → Locations). The other stores keep quoting. See Pausing a location.
- Just one product is out of stock → Mark it sold out in Shopify; Trexity quotes the rest of the catalog normally.
- You want to lower delivery costs without pausing → Use rate override rules (App → Checkout) to subsidize the customer price.
- You only want to hide Trexity in certain cases → Use service availability rules to hide it by condition (e.g. expensive quotes) instead of pausing everything.
How to pause
- App → Checkout.
- Find the Carrier rates section.
- Click Pause carrier rates.
Pause takes effect on the next checkout. Existing carts may still see Trexity options if they cached older quotes; they refresh on the next page change.
Using Shopify Local Delivery too? Pausing carrier rates does not pause Local Delivery. The Shopify Local Delivery section on the same page has its own Pause local delivery button. Pause both if you want to stop offering delivery entirely.
How to resume
Same page, Carrier rates section. Click Enable carrier rates. Quotes return to checkout immediately.
What customers see while paused
They see your other shipping options (USPS, Canada Post, Local Delivery if you have it enabled, any other shipping app). Trexity simply isn’t in the list.
If Trexity was their only shipping option for that address, they may see “no shipping methods available.” Consider keeping Shopify Local Delivery enabled as a fallback even when Trexity is paused.
What you see in the app while paused
- Dashboard shows a “Trexity is paused” banner (when both carrier rates and Local Delivery are off) with a link back to the checkout settings.
- Order block on any active delivery is unaffected — paused status only changes what’s offered at checkout, not how active deliveries behave.
Common questions
“Will my customers be notified?” No. Pause is silent — Trexity just stops appearing as an option. If you want to communicate the pause (e.g. “delivery paused this week — pickup only”), use Shopify’s announcement bar or a temporary homepage banner.
“Does pause stop me being billed?” You’re only billed when a delivery is actually dispatched. If no new deliveries are created, no new charges happen. Active deliveries in flight still settle normally.
“Can I schedule a future pause?” Not today. You manually toggle when you want to pause and resume.
